THE FIRST SHARING
The creative team submits the first complete script and four original song demos to a Denver-based theatre company for review.

THE FIRST SCRIPT
The first complete draft of Always Greener is written. Conversations with a Denver-based theatre company continue around the show’s development and its potential inclusion in future grant-funded programming.

GROWING
The creators conduct an intensive workshop of the complete storyline, strengthening the characters, themes, and dramatic journey of the show.
APRIL 2026
TAKING ROOT
Bryan Black and Robert Lighthall begin developing the concept, characters, and musical world of Always Greener, creating an early collection of songs and demos.
2020-2021
STRETCHING PETALS
Bryan connects with a Denver-based theatre company, opening the door for the musical’s next phase of development.

Courtney Kofoed writes “Stronger Soon,” the original poem that would later inspire Always Greener.
